Slack (Spec Ad)

In 2015, the redpepper agency created an ad campaign to build Slack’s brand awareness. Only early adopters were using the collaboration hub at the time.

My goal was to recreate these ads for the present day (2022) — keeping the same theme of showing people how Slack makes users feel. Slack is now used by millions, so I was focused on highlighting features to help entice the late majority audience.

(Late majority = know what Slack is, but they are still procrastinating on adoption)

Ad campaign by redpepper agency

Ad 1 Feature: Channels

Headline: What it feels like to never read “per my last email” again.

Body copy: Slack channels help team members access the same information and work in sync. No more searching through your inbox, just getting work done. Visit slack.com to learn more.

Ad 2 Feature: Security

Headline: What it feels like to never receive spam.

Body copy: Sending messages over Slack is more secure than email. Visit slack.com to learn how Slack protects your company’s data.

Ad 3 Feature: Messaging Simplicity

Headline: What it feels like to brainstorm using emojis.

Body copy: Slack reduces the need for meetings and allows your team to share ideas when inspiration hits. Visit slack.com to learn more.

Conclusion: The headlines I created pique just enough interest on how Slack can improve one’s work life to want to learn more.
